Alright, I bet y'all are wanting to know just who I am. I'm Angel, and I'm an up-and-coming country music artist. I sing, write songs, and play the guitar. I am also possibly going to be getting into a business deal with the one and only Donald J. Trump. I bet I know what you are thinking: "Woah! How did that happen?!?" Well that is a long story, but it is also an inspiring one, so sit back, get comfy, and grab some tissues, because it does get sad at times.
I'm a victim of verbal child abuse, courtesy of my mother. She liked to tell me I'm worthless and I couldn't do anything right. She would say, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out," and she never gave me a reason to believe she wouldn't. She beat me down and pushed me around until I gave up on my dreams, and then she pushed me into becoming an aircraft mechanic like my stepfather and going to college for aerospace engineering. Then one day in late August 2006, she basically told me I wasn't good enough to continue living with her, and I moved in with my father.
As you can imagine, I was devistated. I was afraid of my mother, but I also wanted her to like me and be proud of me. Now I knew that wasn't going to happen. Then, I found out she may have taken money from me-to the tune of above $7,000- and had used me to milk money from my father, leaving him barely able to make ends meet. I found myself feeling lost. I still dreamt of becoming a country music star, but I was already on track to become an aerospace engineer. Then I ran into problems getting my financial aid transferred to my new college and had to sit out an extra semester. That $7,000 really could have helped. I was also feeling depressed. How could my own mother do that to me? What did I do to deserve it? I was feeling like my life was over and no longer worth living. That was when I saw a preview for an episode of The Apprentice that sparked my curiosity, and I watched that episode.
On The Apprentice, a young woman had decided that going through it for a $250,000 a year job wasn't worth it and quit. Donald Trump lectured her on quitting, but while it seems his words didn't get through to her, they hit home for me. I realized I was quitting and decided that would be the wrong move, but I still didn't know what I should do. Since it was Trump's words that had touched me, I decided to look to him for answers. I researched Mr. Trump and found Trump University, where I have the opportunity to learn from him. I also continued to watch The Apprentice, where in a later episode, he said, "If you love it, stick with it." I love music, but not engineering, so I changed majors from Engineering to a dual major in Business Administration and Music. I got all A's last semester. I wrote the lyrics for a song about the whole experience in which I mention The Apprentice and quote Mr. Trump from that first episode. Last month, I sent a letter to The Trump Organization with a business proposal concerning a way to get the music for the song written and containing a copy of the song lyrics. I have received a card back from them saying they got it and will contact me if they are interested in working with me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are interested, as I would be very excited to work with not only them but also Donald Trump. I hope you are keeping your fingers crossed, too, because this would make for one amazing story.
